Meet our #CPWarriors

Sanjay:

Spending just a few hours with Sanjay will fill you with joy! He is one of the happiest little boys you will ever meet!

Sanjay has Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. This resulted in him constantly moving without control. He was not entirely stable and was lacking head and hand control. He also didn’t have full control over his jaw which makes it hard for him to speak.

After therapy, Sanjay now has control over his upper body and is now able to sit still with control, stand with support and focus on what is in front of him!

“Life would be very difficult without therapy for Sanjay. After coming here, I can see the difference in him. He can now sit and he looks at me and listens when I talk to him. It may not seem like a lot to others, but it is a big change for us!”

Nandhana:

Have you ever heard the term 100 watt smile? Well, Nandhana is the living embodiment of the term!

Nandhana was severely affected by Cerebral Palsy. She was affected by spastic quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. This means the inability to control and use her legs, arms, and body.

Now, with some intense and more importantly consistent therapy, she can sit up, crawl and walk with a support. She can also use her hands to pick up things, draw and indulge in the arts!

“Within a week of bringing her for therapy, she was able to straighten her back. I can see a big change in her. During the Covid lockdown we saw what would happen if we stopped the therapy and we realised how important it is for us to bring her here consistently. The therapists work very hard to help us, and we are so grateful to them!”

Praveen:

Observant and Silent. These are two words that would aptly describe Praveen!

Praveen contracted Cerebellar Ataxia. His symptoms include an inability to coordinate balance, gait, extremities and eye movements. After therapy, he is now able to crawl, maintain balance and stand with support. Visual therapy and focussed neck therapy has made it possible for him to focus on something, observe it and react to it.

“The Sei Sanjeevani Cerebral Palsy Care Centre is very useful to us. Without the therapy he wasn’t able to do anything. My son has a long way to go, but I think the way to get there is through this centre. It is a godsend for us!

I have seen many changes in Praveen. He has more control now, and his muscles are slowly developing.”
